In it, doctors examined the association between stem cell transplant and the change of disc height. They found that after treating patients with stem cells 23.6% showed an increase in the disc height index in the transplant group compared with the placebo group.
What that means in layman's terms is, treating spinal injuries with stem cells seems to improve the space between the spinal discs. That will decrease pain and increase flexibility.
The article went on to say, "Stem cell transplant was viable and effective in halting or reversing degenerative disc disease of the spine" that according to the Mayo Clinic.
