Dr. Kimberly Nelson is a Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic

Chronic migraine headaches can ruin your life. I know. I have had my share of them. One actually lasted 297 days. Pills did not help. Nothing would kill the pain until I found cervical decompression at my chiropractor's office.

I had never heard of such a thing, but bottom line, it worked. I must have had some sort of pinch in my neck that even traditional chiropractic couldn't seem to cure. But the decompression, offered by Dr. Kimberly Nelson at Integrated Spinal Solutions did!

Dr. Nelson attached a strap around my head and chin and I relaxed on a table. The decompression table used gravity to slowly pull the cervical "neck" bones apart. Three treatments helped me. If you haven't tried decompression you should know that it's pain-free. It actually relaxes you while it works. I fell asleep during mine.

Dr Nelson is part of the Integrated Spinal Solutions family of chiropractors. She works in the South Reno clinic, which is just around the corner from McCarren and Longley Lane, turn at Louie Ln.
If you know where Fitness Connection is, they are right across the street.

I recommend Dr. Nelson, and all the doctors at Integrated Spinal Solutions.

Dr. Kimberly Nelson was born and raised in Reno. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she studied Community Health Science. It was during her undergraduate studies, while she worked as a receptionist at a chiropractic office, when she was introduced to the philosophy of chiropractic. “I was so intrigued when I learned about nerve interference for the first time, and that the purpose of a chiropractic adjustment is to remove interference allowing one’s body to function optimally. As a receptionist, I was able to see firsthand the progression of a patient's health and listen to their everlasting gratitude. I fell in love with the idea of a non-invasive, holistic approach to healthcare and knew I had to impact people's lives the same way that the doctor I worked for did."

Kimberly Nelson is a Reno chiropractorThe new found love for chiropractic led her all the way to Davenport, Iowa where she attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2010. In the summer of 2013 she participated in a clinic abroad program in Fiji where she was able to treat locals who didn't have access to chiropractic care. Shortly after Dr. Nelson moved back to Reno to be with her family and do her internship under Dr. Daniel Welch. She graduated Palmer College of Chiropractic in February 2014 and is very excited to be serving the Reno area.

Reno Doctor of Chiropractic - Dr. Nicolas Riley

Dealing with back pain can be one of the most difficult types of pain to deal with. You are faced with constant strains, standing up, sitting down, bending, reaching, and even laying down can create pain for you. If it's driving you crazy, it's normal.

You can only deal with so much pain. And you can only take so many pain meds before you realize that you need professional help. When I was messed up with low back pain, I went to see Dr. Nicolas Riley. He said I had an injury to my lower "lumbar" region, and he recommended that I go through several treatments to repair the situation.

I was set up on the "spinal decompression" machine; a real strange contraption, that slowly pulled the spine to relieve the pain. It worked, and not only did it work, I have not needed another treatment in 18 months. I highly recommend it.

Chiropractic Doctor in Reno

Finding a good chiropractor is not an easy task. Some of them have qualities I rather not mention.. if you can call them qualities. But there are some really good chiropractors living in Northern Nevada, and work right here in Reno, Caughlin Ranch, and Round Mountain.

Whether you are dealing with neck pain, or back pain, or chronic nerve pain, or headache, your chiropractor can help you. Talk with them about the pain, and how you "think" you did that. They will examine you, and after the evaluation, they will recommend several treatment options for your back pain.

In Reno, one chiropractic clinic is called Integrated Spinal Solutions. They have been helping people like you longer than most chiropractic clinics in this area. They have six doctors of chiropractic to help you, so there's usually not much of a wait.

Integrated Spinal Solutions is one of the few clinics that offer spinal decompression. This is a pain free way to adjust your spine. They also have may other medical techniques to help ease your pain.

Costs are lower than most procedures, talk to their billing department for the actual cost of your care.

This blogger uses Integrated Spinal Solutions. My personal chiropractor is Dr. Danial Welch, and I highly recommend him.

40 Years Of Change

I just found my high school yearbook and I was looking through it; class of 78, when I noticed something. There was only one fat kid. 132 students graduated, and only one fat kid. Now, the tables have turned. Just go to Disneyland and you will see some of the largest people on the planet; paying 8 dollars for a hotdog.. but that's another blog for another day.

So back in '78, Gerry Rafferty on the radio, only one kid was fat, and now, just about everyone is over weight. And hey, wow!... just about everyone has back issues. If you check medical records from the 60's, very few people had back issues, that is a new condition for Americans; one that developed after the 1980's, when we moved into offices, sat down down in front of our first computers, and got lazy. We also used to have something called "P.E."

Farmers rarely had issues with their backs. They worked/ or work all day long. They are healthy, hearty people. So sitting may be the issue. Maybe we all need to get the hell up off the couch and do something.

When you do mess up your back, you can visit your doctor. They are professionals, so follow instructions, use your meds properly, and if the pain does not go away, head to the chiropractor for an adjustment. If your chiropractor finds that you are "too injured" for an adjustment, you may want to consider "spinal decompression". This procedure is available at Integrated Spinal Solutions in Reno, Caughlin Ranch, and Round Mountain, Nevada.

Dr. Xavier Martinez - Doctor of Chiropractic

An injury to your back may take a while to heal. You never know until you have a chiropractor look at your situation. For instance. I had a low backache, I think I sat too long at work, and I thought it would just go away. Every time I stood up the pain would send me to my knees. I told my regular doctor about it and he prescribed some pain meds. The pain did not go away. I had Dr. Xavier Martinez check my back and it ended up being a problem with my sacrum.

I went though spinal decompression therapy with Dr. Martinez. One treatment and I felt a lot better, but after three weeks, and 6 treatments later, I felt 20 years younger. No pain at all. Now after 18 months, I still have no issues.

If you are going though something like that, contact a chiropractor today. I recommend Dr. Martinez for obvious reasons. He has an office in Caughlin Ranch. Below you will find his contact information.

Dr. Xavier Martinez
Doctor of Chiropractic - Reno, Nevada

(775) 828-9665
Dr. Martinez has been treating patients for more than 20 years now. He graduated from the same college named after the founder of chiropractic, "Palmer College of Chiropractic-West" over in San Jose. After college, (Xavier) Martinez worked as Clinical Director of Preferred Chiropractic in Las Vegas and at another chiropractic clinic in Selma, California. Finally in '98, Dr Martinez and his family made a trip to the Reno area that changed his family, they fell in love with the Reno area and moved here.

Dr Xavier Martinez is a Reno ChiropractorEarly on in his career he realized the limitations chiropractic had when dealing with spinal disc injuries. Lacking a better option, he would refer non-responsive patients for spinal surgery. Unfortunately, the long-term outcome of surgery was not much better and, in a few cases, left the patients even worse. Frustrated, he sought another, more effective and certainly less risky option than surgery... and he found one.

Part of the solution came in the form of Spinal Decompression. This is a mechanical non-invasive means of reducing pressure on a bulging disc. Utilizing this technology, treatment outcomes improved but were not great.

Applying traditional chiropractic maneuvers along with Spinal Decompression seemed to aggravate the patients’ complaints. It became clear that bulging discs do not respond well to torque or twisting maneuvers, the hallmark of a traditional Chiropractic Adjustment. There has to be a better way...

Have you seen Dr. Martinez? What do you think of his staff and office, and the treatment your received? Please use this page to comment on Integrated Spinal Solutions of Caughlin Ranch. Thanks!

A Backache Is Not Just A Backache

You've had that nagging backache for a while now. You chalk it up to age don't you? It's not age. It's gravity. Humans have to deal with gravity, and after a while your spine gets a little compacted. That's when nerves get pinched, and you feel pain.

Covering up that pain is out first option. It's okay, but if you are doing that for more than a week, you need to go to the chiropractor.

In Reno, Integrated Spinal Solutions offers traditional chiropractic medical procedures. You can get relief from back pain, neck pain, headaches, and more.

Have you been to Integrated Spinal Solutions? What did you think about your treatment? Let us know. Post your comments below.
